A. Tổng quan dạng Map – IELTS Writing Task 1

Đề bài IELTS Writing dạng Map (bản đồ) sẽ có 2 loại chính:

1. Đề IELTS Writing dạng Map – Loại 1

Dạng đề IELTS Writing mà trong đó bạn chỉ có duy nhất 1 Map và cần phải mô tả vị trí từng thành phần trong Ielts Map này. Đây là dạng rất đơn giản nên sẽ rất ít gặp trong đề thi IELTS Writing.

2. Đề IELTS Writing dạng Map – Loại 2

Dạng đề IELTS Writing mà trong đó có số lượng từ bản đồ trở lên. Đây là dạng Map xuất hiện thông thường hơn. Theo đó, bạn sẽ được cung cấp từ 2 Map trở lên để miêu tả cùng một khu vực nhưng khác nhau về thời gian. Nhiệm vụ của người viết trong dạng biểu đồ Map đôi đó là phải lần lượt làm rõ những sự thay đổi được kể trên biểu đồ.

B. Bài mẫu biểu đồ – IELTS Writing task 1 – Dạng 1 Map

“The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.”

2. Bài mẫu IELTS Writing task 1 – Dạng 1 Map

The given map shows two possible locations for the planned supermarket in the Garsdon City.

As is presented in the illustration, The main difference between the two sites is that one is located in the countryside outside the town, whereas the other is in the town centre. Both potential sites are close to the railway, and reasonably near to a main road.

The first possible location for the planned supermarket is near the Hindon area where almost ten thousand inhabitants live and the location is in the north-west corner. This location would be ideal for the Hindon people for shopping but the people of Crandon and Brandon, which have great more population, would be far away from this supermarket.

The second possible location which is almost in the centre of the city would be surrounded by industrial zones and housings in North and South sides of the city. This would be an ideal place as it would connect all the shoppers in the three parts of the city. Since the railway passes near this location, this would be a better place in terms of communication as well.

Intro

Chúng ta có tóm tắt đề bài như sau: The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town.

Từ đó chúng ta có phần mở bài như sau:

The given map shows two possible locations for the planned supermarket in the Garsdon City.

Mục đích chính của phần mở bài là để đánh giá khả năng tổng hợp, tóm tắt và miêu tả khái quát bản đồ nói về vấn đề gì. Khi mới nhìn qua bản đồ nhiều bạn sẽ bị ngộp do không biết bắt đầu từ đâu. Tuy nhiên, thay vì nhìn vào bản đồ, các bạn có thể chú ý vào phần tóm tắt đi kèm với bản đồ mà đề bài đưa ra. Đây chính là nguồn viết mở bài cực kỳ hiệu quả cho bạn cũng như giúp bạn trong việc hiểu được bản đồ nói về vấn đề gì.

“The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.”

2. Bài mẫu IELTS Writing task 1 – Dạng trên 2 Map

The pictures illustrate the development of the village of Stokeford that have taken place over a period of 80 years.

In general, it is clearly shown that River Stoke and a bridge remained unchanged throughout the given period of time and many more houses had been constructed in 2010.

There were major changes in the village of Stokeford over the years. First of all, the shops located in the east of River Stoke were destroyed and more houses were built in 2010. The next noticeable feature is that the farmland in 1930 was demolished and it was converted into residential places with new roads being constructed.

Furthermore, primary school was developed in 2010 and it was almost doubled in 2010 compared to 1930. Part of the gardens in 1930 was used for the residential purpose by building more rows of houses near the main road. The leftover garden with a large house was then developed into a retirement home in 2010.
